A Tribute To Godzilla

A Tribute To Godzilla

This is definitely a hard post. I went back and forth on whether I should even write about this. When an animal dies, it’s depressing. It’s my least favorite part about working with animals. Godzilla’s sudden death came completely out of left field. He appeared healthy, was eating like a champ, and in less than a week, took a turn for the worse. A necropsy determined he died of kidney failure, a common disease found in captive iguanas. I’m still in shock. It’s like losing a member of the family. As hard as this blog is to write, I need to do it. I need to pay tribute to Godzilla. I also need to share with you, my reader, what it’s like. Working with animals is not always fun. There’s ups and there’s downs. It’s raw and it’s real.

Fires in Australia: How YOU Can Help

Fires in Australia: How YOU Can Help

As I sit here and write this blog on January 8, 2020, it has now been estimated that over 1 BILLION mammals, birds, and reptiles have perished from the deadly bushfires in Australia. (Please note, this figure does not include amphibians or insects.) Nearly 20 million acres have burned and at least 25 people have been confirmed dead.

2017 Recap

2017 Recap

2017, what an incredible year it has been. I seriously can't believe it has flown by so fast (no pun intended). I decided to put together my favorite moments of each month in pictures- which turned out harder than I thought. After many hours and countless cups of coffee, I finally sorted through my 9,000 + pictures and selected my favorites. 2017 was also big year for me on The Today Show- I included those clips as well.

As always, thank you for the support and following me on my journey working with animals. I hope you enjoy this 2017 recap.

Happy New Years!
