Welcome to the St. Louis Zoo. It was voted number one zoo in the country by Parenting Magazine...and for good reason! I have visited this zoo many times over the years and find something new there every time I visit (like taking this picture).
We're going to the zoo!
Speckled Caimans
Today we are headed to the St. Louis Zoo! A lot of people do not know that this zoo is one of the best in the country. Not only do they have amazing award-winning exhibits, they also play an important part in captive breeding programs for conservation. ***They also have an AMAZING reptile house!!! One of the largest in the country. I cannot wait. I promise to post more pics tonight!
A monkey's uncle!
I'm an uncle! This is my new niece named Kendal! This experience reminded me of another one...hmm..
This is me holding Li Bao, Zoo Boise's baby Gibbon! What a beauty. It's so amazing how "human-like" these primates are. When I was holding Kendal all I could think about was how much it reminded me of interacting with Li Bao. They both are very timid towards strangers, are bottle fed, and wear diapers!
FYI: Li Boa is an ape NOT a monkey. An easy way to tell the difference is monkey's have tails and apes do not.
Happy Sunday
Happy Sunday everyone!
We arrived in St. Louis yesterday at around 5:27pm. I owe a lot of thanks to "Alicia" my GPS who guided us the whole way. I have been to St. Louis before so I knew what to expect. Let me tell you...It is strange being in a place like San Francisco then only days later being here. Different everything. As for wildlife, on our way into the city we saw A LOT of wild turkeys. That was a first. It reminded me of my pet turkey back home named "Tina." A lot people do not know that I have a pet turkey (FYI: makes for a great conversation piece)! I received her for my 18th birthday. She has a very timid personality but believe it or not, she is actually trained to head back into her pen by the sound of my clap! Gotta love it!

Open for business???
Again, I know it's not animal related but I wanted to share how hard it was to find gas in Wyoming! This poor station hasn't seen a customer since the 1950's!
