I’ve been obsessed with animals for as long as I can remember. I was the kid transfixed by the motionless alligator at the zoo. The kid that had more animal friends than human ones. The kid that always talked about animals to anyone who would listen. Never in my wildest dreams (no pun intended) would I imagine I would grow up to one day work with some of the most incredible animals on earth. On top of that, to have the opportunity to get people excited about them on America’s #1 morning show. In my latest blog, I go over highlights of my recent trip to NYC for The Today Show!
Goodbye Kathie Lee
Friday, April 5th will be Kathie Lee’s last day hosting The Today Show. I’ve been appearing on the show for eight years, and have done multiple segments with the legend herself. She’s always been so kind, warm, and has always made me feel comfortable on set. Here are some of my favorite moments working with her. I hope you enjoy looking back- Corbin
Behind-the-Scenes on 'Today'
When I was kid, I clearly remember eating my breakfast with The Today Show on in the background. I would watch until I had to head out to the bus stop at 7:20 am. This was way before I ever had rescued my first snake at 12, or had any intentions of pursuing a career working with animals on television. Fast forward 18 years, and here I am on the set in famous Studio 1A, pictured with Jenna Bush, Hoda Kotb, and my wife Samantha. Sometimes I still find it hard to wrap my brain around how a simple, Idaho kid landed a spot on one of the most coveted places on morning television. Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. But the climb was well worth it! Now, I’m able to take you behind-the-scenes on what it’s like appearing on Today…
'TODAY', A-ROD, and an Anteater!
I'm not going to lie; it's definitely been quite a while since my last blog post. I think a lot of it has to do with the simplicity of being able to record a podcast rather than meticulously writing a blog. I have to say though; so much has happened in the last few days, I couldn't help but want to share with you all the photos and experiences that transpired. I hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at my recent time on "The Today Show"- Corbin
A Voice For Animals
"In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught." (Baba Dioum, 1968.)
This is a quote I read many years ago in Jungle Jack: My Wild Life by Jack Hanna. I've always remembered it. As a wildlife educator, I live by this quote. Every time I have the opportunity to appear on television, the radio, print, or the web, I take my job as a wildlife spokesperson seriously. More than ever, animals need our help. Being an active voice for them has opened up many doors and opportunities I never even imagined. Like a few weeks ago on The Today Show. If you would have told me I would be educating the Former First Lady, Laura Bush, about African Penguin conservation, I wouldn't have believed you. I'm excited to go more in-depth with this experience, along with several other recent ones.
