Corbin's "Top Ten Places You Should Visit This Summer" # 1

Zoo Boise

It should come to most at no surprise that Zoo Boise makes my "Top Ten Places You Should Visit This Summer" at #1! I have literally grown up at this zoo and enjoy visiting this place every chance I get. Another reason why I placed it at #1 is that there are so many new animals and exhibits to enjoy this summer.

Giraffe

These are some of the new faces you can expect while visiting Zoo Boise this summer! This is Joseph and Julius. These two male giraffes call the zoo's "African Planes" exhibit home. This multi-species exhibit is also home to a pride of lions, hornbills, and Striped Hyenas.

Penguin

Please ignore the water spot! This picture was taken back-in-the-day! Some of my favorite feathered friends call the zoo home. These are Magellanic Penguins. The zoo offers underwater viewing of these magnificent birds and has penguin talks daily. Some of my favorite memories include scrubbing this pool every Tuesday!!!!

Reptile Rampage

When I said I "grew up" at this zoo I wasn't kidding. Way before touring nationally, appearing on television, and hosting a TV show I was at Zoo Boise performing in "Reptile Rampage." This show which I wrote/produced was performed weekly and attracted thousands of zoo visitors. It was all about promoting responsible pet ownership which is a message I still talk about to this day.

Soni and I

"Reptile Rampage" featured ALL sorts of reptiles including this baby alligator I am holding...his name is "Soni!" Can you believe how tiny he was at the time? Now at over 5 feet he seems monstrous compared to how little he was back then.

Lia Bo

Ok. I promise I will retire this picture after this blog...I just can't help but love this picture with me holding the zoo's baby gibbon named Lia Bo. What a sweetheart! You can now visit her swinging through her HUGE outdoor exhibit with her mom and dad.

Thanks

April 029 The animals and I had such a long wonderful weekend! We met thousands of people at our events and are so grateful people came out to see us. Our brand-new shows went great and seemed to be well received. After long hard days of work there is nothing better than a treat full of romaine, cooked yams, and apples (at least for Tinkerbelle). If you have any pictures from our events this weekend send them to me at info@corbinmaxey.com. I would love to post them on my blog. It's so hard to take pictures during shows...especially when you have an 11 foot python wrapped around you!

~ Have a wonderful Sunday

"LIVE with The Reptile Guy" TONIGHT

Last night's taping of "LIVE with The Reptile Guy" went great! We welcomed Trish from Birds of Prey as well as our very own Parrot Expert! And take a look at my studio audience! It makes such a difference having people there to talk to besides a lizard! Thanks for all of you who came out to support the show.

It airs TONIGHT!!! Watch it locally in Southwestern Idaho on TVCTV Channel 11 @ 8:00pm or streaming LIVE at that time at www.tvctvonline.org (Mountain Standard Time). If you miss it tonight don’t worry…it re-airs Saturday morning at 10:00am! Enjoy.

Corbin's "Top Ten Places You Should Visit This Summer" # 2

Rocky Point Sea World San Diego located in San Diego, California makes my "Top Ten Places You Should Visit This Summer" at number 2. Even though this park is the smallest Sea World Park in the nation it makes up for its visual beauty, stunning exhibits, amazing marine life, and its award-winning shows. This is a picture of Rocky Point Preserve home to over a dozen of the park's Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins.

Dolphin

Here is more of an up-close picture of one of their dolphins. This was taken during a designated dolphin feeding, which is open to the public during certain times of the day. It also gives you the chance to feel the "rubbery" skin of these marine mammals. Matter of fact Rocky Point Preserve is the first place I ever touched a dolphin! How neat!

As you all know I LOVE hands-on exhibits. This is me at one of the park's touch pools. These pools give you the opportunity to touch all sorts of marine life including starfish, sharks, and stingrays!

Believe

We got great seats to the park's newest show Believe...NOT! Even though we were pretty far up we still got a great view of Sea World's icon: the Killer Whale. After the show you can even see the whales in Shamu Close Up.

Sea turtle

Look at this big guy! Sea World San Diego is home to many different types of sea turtles, some of which has been here since the park opened in 1964. These ancient marine reptiles can live to be over 100 years old!

Journey

This park is also home to one-of-a-kind attractions including Journey to Atlantis. This "water coaster" is one of the very few in the nation. My best advice would be to ride this one first since the wait can get up to 3 hours! Definitely worth it though!
