Montana & Idaho's Fight Against Wolves

In this episode, I chat with Jeff Ewelt, the executive director of Zoo Montana about one of the planet’s most misunderstood animals; WOLVES. Jeff discusses the recent bills passed to eliminate 90% of the wolves in Idaho and 80% of the wolves in Montana. He discusses why wolves are important and why we need to start speaking up for them.

Wolf Biologist On Ending Federal Protections

IMG_7794.JPG

In this episode, I speak to wolf biologist and author of the new book, Restoring Balance: What Wolves Tell Us About Our Relationship With Nature, John Vucetich. John has been studying wolves and the predator/prey relationship with moose in Isle Royale for 25 years. With recent efforts to end protections for the Gray Wolf in the lower 48, John goes into why the science and data doesn’t back wolf hunting. We also discuss how to have a civil discussion with someone who is anti-wolf and why the Biden administration isn’t stepping in to protect the Gray Wolf.

Idaho's War on Wolves

IMG_4315.JPG

In this episode, I sit-down with executive director of the Wolf Conservation Center, Maggie Howell. We discuss the new bill just passed to eliminate 90% of the wolves in Idaho. On July 1st the new bill will allow hunters to kill wolves and their puppies using traps, snares, dogs, snowmobiles, poison, etc. Maggie discusses how there is absolutely no science to back up the claims that wolves take a devastating toll on livestock (less than .004% average in Idaho) and elk populations, which are at an all-time high. ***Please listen and share with friends and family! There is still time to save wolves and re-list them back on the Endangered Species list!
